This week, I had the warm pleasure of sitting down with Grace Williams, General Manager at The Sports Hub in Fowey—a brilliant, community-hearted gym at Fowey River Academy, where everyone from first-timers to regulars feels instantly at home.

Imagine slipping into a workout that fits your life like a favourite wellie - practical, supportive, and utterly Cornish. That's The Sports Hub in Fowey, a community powerhouse since 2002, where locals of all ages ditch the January blues for real, feel-good movement. Shared with Fowey River Academy and freshly equipped, it's the no-fuss spot to build strength, ease aches, and make new friends.

Whether you're a busy mum squeezing in cardio or a grandparent eyeing the squash court, these spaces deliver without feeling overwhelming. The Engine Room offers cardio machines for heart health and resistance equipment; Performance Zone for purposeful lifts; Runway for fun functional kit like battle ropes and tyres. Rally on four badminton courts, two squash ones, or the full hall for netball. The airy studio calls is the perfect spot to dance, while table tennis brings family giggles. And … there’s free parking onsite.
